Massimo (Max) Osella: Group Manager, General Motors Research & Development
Bio: Since 2006 he is the manager of Electronic Controls and Software Architectures group within the Electrical Control System Lab at General Motors Research and Development in Warren (Michigan USA). His research areas are electronic system architectures, serial communication protocols, software architectures, computational platforms, fault tolerance, functional safety, and Cybersecurity. He manages several research projects related to Autonomous Driving, Centralized Vehicle Architectures, and High-Performance Computing. He was the Chair of the IEEE-SA Ethernet & IP @ Automotive Technology Day for the 2014 and 2017 editions.
He was previously working at FIAT Research Center in Torino (Italy) where he was managing the Diagnosis & Safety group. He also worked on several European research projects on diagnosis, by-wire and system architecture topics. He received a Master in Electronic Engineering at “Politecnico of Torino”, Italy, in 1987.
